November Program

Our November guest speakers will be Paige and Lorrie from Sew Mod fabric and quilting boutique .  They will have a trunk show,  a demo on hexagons and fabric for sale.  Olga and I saw their booth at the Prairie Star Quilt Guild Show and they have great fabric and ideas.  Not only do they have their online store, they are also starting a chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild in Crystal Lake.  Don't miss the November meeting and bring a friend who might be interested in our modern guild.

DECEMBER MEETING will be a potluck holiday party.  You can sign up at the November meeting or email me to bring either an appetizer or dessert to the meeting.  I have plates, cups and utensils.  Please bring serving utensils for your dish.

Optional 2012 gift exchange will be a themed mug rug.  Directions are to make a 6 inch x 10 inch mug rug of any design of Christmas or Winter theme.   Bring your mug rug wrapped to the party.  If you bring one you will get one!

Summer to Fall Review

It has been too long since I posted and my apologies.  Had a busy summer, my computer died and I have had to get used to a new Mac laptop - always used Windows in the past.  I have figured out how to upload my photos etc. so am back online again.  We have had fun at our latest meetings exploring some modern techniques and working on our own projects.

free motion practice sandwiches
In August we worked on our free motion skills making sample sandwiches and trying different free motion designs.  Everyone seemed to let go and channel their inner free spirit.

September was Wonky Mystery Bags.  Everyone received a brown bag with a tutorial and scrap fabric to make a different type of wonky block.  For some it took a lot of will power to give up the rules and just be wonky.  Everyone received directions with credit given to the bloggers for their tutorials.

October was a free sewing session with participants working on their own projects and socializing.  We discussed November's speaker, swap ideas and holiday plans.

See you in November for our speaker.
